£14m target ‘ready’ for Celtic transfer as incoming Rangers man eager to ‘make an impression’ at Ibrox

James Forrest scored a late equalizer to keep Celtic’s title celebrations intact as the four-time champions drew 1-1 with St Mirren on Trophy Day at Parkhead.
Rangers, however, had to settle for a contentious 2-2 draw with Hibs at Easter Road, and they have criticized the SFA for failing to stop a clear-cut goal from referee Nick Walsh. Elsewhere, transfer news around both clubs is abundant. Here is a summary of the most recent news stories:
Amid new Celtic transfer interest, Mathias Kvistgaarden, a much sought-after Brondby striker, has stated he is prepared to establish himself on the continent.
Over the past two transfer windows, Hoops manager Brendan Rodgers has been keeping an eye on the tall forward, but the Scottish champions have not been able to come to an agreement on a deal for the Denmark U21 international.
After Kyogo Furuhashi was sold to French team Rennes for £10 million in January, Rodgers was unable to bring in a fresh attacking option, leaving Celtic with just Adam Idah and Johnny Kenny as the team’s two established No. 9s.
When used through the center, Daizen Maeda stood up to the plate, but Rodgers is still expected to bolster his forward line this summer, and Kvistgaarden, who the Superliga team values at an incredible £14 million, is still a target. Eintracht Frankfurt of the German Bundesliga is also interested in him.
The 23-year-old has also admitted that, should the club grant his request, he would immediately quit Brondby. “I think I’m ready,” he said to TV 2 SPORT. I’m prepared to advance since I’ve established myself at Brondby and in the Superliga. I don’t think that’s the ambition for me – to continue and play with Brondby next season. That is not incorrect for me to state.
After helping Dundee maintain their Premiership standing for another year, Lyall Cameron has backed himself to make a good impression at Rangers the following season.
At McDiarmid Park, the 22-year-old midfielder scored twice as the Dens Park team defeated St Johnstone 2-0 to secure survival and finish in 10th place.
As he gets ready to move to Ibrox this summer, Cameron acknowledges that it was an appropriate way to end his time on Tayside and that he can now focus on the next phase of his career.
He acknowledged: “Obviously, there has been a lot going on, so I haven’t really had much time to think about it. I just wanted to make sure that Dundee had my whole attention.” But now that it’s done it will probably start to kick in more and I’m really looking forward to that.
“I don’t expect to walk into the team every week, and I know it’s going to be difficult. People thought I might not play every week, but that’s just the way football is, so I received criticism for my choice.
You support yourself, and I have faith in my ability to go out there and try to leave an impact and perform to the best of my abilities for the Rangers. That’s my objective, and I’ll just take things as they come and hope everything goes smoothly when I get there.
