24-year-old free agent continuing Plymouth Argyle trial despite bizarre error

Plymouth Argyle will have trialist Luca Ashby-Hammond with them again for the Truro City friendly, Plymouth Live has said.

Plymouth Argyle are looking to further strengthen their ranks after a busy summer window to date. PAFC have spent the opening weeks of the window shaping the squad to Tom Cleverley’s liking.

The bulk of the Pilgrims’ business is already done, but the manager has confirmed more additions are on the radar – both for the starting XI and beyond.

Among those on the radar is goalkeeper Luca Ashby-Hammond, whose trial with the League One club was first reported last week. He played in a pre-season friendly with Eintracht Braunschweig last week and scored a comical own goal as he miscued a pass into his own net.

Nonetheless, as per a report from Plymouth Live, 24-year-old ‘keeper Ashby-Hammond will be continuing his trial with Plymouth Argyle.

Another goalkeeper is wanted this summer and the PAFC trialist will be given another chance to impress as Cleverley’s side prepare for their latest friendly against Truro City.

The goalkeeper is available on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract with Premier League side Fulham, where he had been part of the youth setup since 2008.
