£285,000-a-week trio benched as Wilson and Isidor decisions made

Sunderland and West Ham United will face off at the Stadium of Light on Saturday afternoon in their first Premier League match of the season.

Regis Le Bris’ newly promoted side has been extremely active in the summer transfer window following their promotion via a playoff final triumph, while Graham Potter has been working bolstering his squad in his own image ahead of his first full season in charge.

Both managers will have to make judgments on their starting lineups, and this is how GIVEMESPORT expects the squads to appear.

Sunderland Team News

The Black Cats have been quite busy this summer, signing Habib Diarra, Simon Adingra, Chemsdine Talbi, Noah Sadiki, Marc Guiu, Robin Roefs, Omar Alderete, Reinildo, Arthur Masuaku, and new captain Granit Xhaka.

Guiu is unlikely to be available for this game, while Alderete and Masuaku, who only arrived this week, will be late calls. Luke O’Nien, Leo Hjelde, Romain Mundle, and Dennis Cirkin are all out due to injury.

Le Bris Releases Team News Update.

In his pre-match press conference, Le Bris provided an update on his roster for the encounter.

“The final decision will be late. They arrived this week, so we’ll see if they’re ready. To begin or merely in the final stages of the game? We will see tomorrow.

“I believe we will have the possibility to select Marc Guiu, Arthur Masuaku, and Omar Alderete. I believe it will be difficult to get started because of their fitness levels and the lack of time they have spent with their teammates, but that is a decision we will make Friday morning.

“With Omar, there was also a minor problem with his knee, but it is now completely cured. He was out of full training for around ten days. I don’t think he’s ready to start a game. I believe he could help us if we truly needed him, because he is a warrior.

Sunderland Predicted XI

  • Sunderland Predicted XI: Roefs; Hume, Ballard, Seelt, Reinildo; Xhaka, Diarra; Talbi, Le Fee, Adingra; Mayenda.
  • Sunderland Predicted Substitutes: Patterson (GK), Alderete (DEF), Masuaku (DEF), Huggins (DEF), Neil (MID), Rigg (MID), Roberts (MID), Sadiki (MID), Isidor (FWD).

Le Bris likely field an offensive side at home for the opening Premier League game, which means Enzo Le Fee should start ahead of debutants Xhaka and Diarra.

£25m duo As a result, Alderete and Sadiki will most likely be benched, while Wilson Isidor, despite a recent injury, may also make the bench.
