Although West Brom has been slow to choose a new manager, EFL Analysis can exclusively disclose that their hunt is almost over.
When it became clear that the Baggies would not be earning a play-off berth this season, Tony Mowbray left the team in April.
James Morrison took over as interim manager until the end of the season, and the Midlands club has been considering their options in the background ever since.
Ryan Mason has been the front-runner for the position for a while. West Brom has had to wait, but it appears that the wait is almost over.

Ryan Mason is about to accept a position at West Brom.
EFL Analysis can exclusively disclose the Baggies’ current position on hiring their next manager according to information provided by our Chief Football Correspondent, Graeme Bailey.
Ryan Mason is now “very close” to taking the position of manager of West Bromwich Albion, according to EFL Analysis.
According to reports, the club has been making great efforts to bring the Tottenham Hotspur coach to The Hawthorns, and as of right now, a deal is “edging to completion.”
In order to put a good spin on a dismal league season, West Brom had been waiting for Mason to finish the season at Tottenham, where he and his club had recently won the Europa League.

The management career of Ryan Mason thus far:
Despite having a short management career, Mason has often stepped up when Tottenham Hotspur needed him most.
After Jose Mourinho was fired in 2021, the youthful coach took over and even led the team to the Carabao Cup final, where they lost 1-0 to Man City.
When Antonio Conte and Cristian Stellini left the team in the latter half of the 2022–2023 season, he also filled in.
Mason’s total number of games managed is thirteen. In all, he recorded six victories, six losses, and one tie.
Seeing what he can do in his first full-time management position will be intriguing. However, if and when Mason takes over, West Brom could not be giving him a huge transfer budget this summer, according to our financial expert Adam Williams, which would make things more difficult.
