Since joining Rovers from Rochdale in the summer of 2023, the 17-year-old has drawn attention within the team’s academy system.

However, journalist Alan Nixon has reported via his Patreon that Arsenal is getting ready to make a bid for Blackburn, suggesting that his chances of keeping his services into the summer transfer window are limited.

Tyjon of Blackburn has been identified by Arsenal as a summer transfer target, and the Gunners are currently negotiating a deal to bring him to North London, according to Nixon’s report from June 1.

According to reports, Blackburn was able to ward off Premier League interest in Tyjon last summer when the club signed him to a two-year scholarship deal.

Manchester United and Brighton & Hove Albion were reportedly among those top flight clubs interested in bringing him to Old Trafford at the time, but Tyjon chose to stay at Ewood Park in the hopes of breaking into Blackburn’s first-team squad in 2024–2025, but that proved difficult for him.

Arsenal is reportedly willing to pay a guaranteed sum of more than £1 million to sign the teenager, with add-ons guaranteed to be included in any deal.

He only played six minutes of second-tier football in 2024–2025, making just two Championship outings as a substitute against Bristol City and Sunderland, respectively.

One of the greatest EFL teams for young players to grow into first-team stars is Blackburn Rovers, as they have demonstrated rather clearly in recent years.

Players who have advanced through Rovers’ youth system and joined the main squad at Ewood Park include Adam Wharton, David Raya, Lewis Travis, Ashley Phillips, Hayden Carter, John Buckley, Scott Wharton, and Joe Rankin-Costello.

According to Tyjon’s prior remarks, he is well aware of the established route for young players at Ewood Park, since several of those names, including Wharton and Raya, made high-profile moves to the Premier League after being given the opportunity to shine for Blackburn.

Following his signature of the aforementioned scholarship with the club last summer, Tyjon told the Lancashire Telegraph: “It feels very nice, I am very happy to sign it.”
