“Isn’t for Sale!” – Brentford Slam Door Shut After Shock Official Bid for Star Player

Brentford boss Thomas Frank has primarily used Yehor Yarmolyuk as a substitute during the last two seasons. To put it in context, the midfielder appeared in 58 Premier League games, with only 21 starts.

This season, the Ukraine international appeared in 37 games for the Bees and logged 1,776 minutes. Despite his limited role, the Brentford midfielder has sparked attention from Napoli, according to a report from his home country.

Journalist Vladimir Zverov of Profutbol Digital told Football 24 about the Serie A winners’ interest to sign the 21-year-old this summer. He says the Naples club has made an official approach for the teenage midfielder.

“According to my information, Napoli has approached Brentford with an official inquiry. He stated that they are now actively monitoring promising footballers.

According to the report, the Premier League club declined the formal proposal from the Italian champions since they have no plans to trade him. He is anticipated to play a more prominent role than he did this season at Brentford.

“Brentford has stated that Yarmolyuk is not for sale and that he will be a key member of the squad next season. Probably, his transfer value will rise considerably further,” Zverov added.

The journalist’s allegation makes sense, given that the London club extended his contract on May 29th. They offered Yarmolyuk a new deal until 2031, with an option for an additional year.

Transfermarkt now valued him at €15 million, but Brentford will need considerably more if they are to consider moving the Ukrainian.
