Sky Sports: Newcastle wants a young midfielder, two long-term goals, and a Brazilian

Only a few years after the Brighton team nearly signed the versatile forward from Watford, Rob Dorsett of Sky Sports writes that he is once again on Eddie Howe’s want list.

With Callum Wilson out of contract and star player Alexander Isak in need of competition (or a possible partner?) as we get ready to compete on four fronts next season, Newcastle is in dire need of another striker this summer.

According to Dorsett, Pedro is attracting a lot of interest from Premier League teams as well as teams throughout Europe.

Going on to the next update from Sky Sports, they have also published a comprehensive article outlining every club’s requirements and desires as they enter a busy summer, revealing a few areas Eddie Howe intends to strengthen.

According to Sky, Howe’s long-term goals are still Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace and James Trafford of Burnley, who are seen as our top choices for center defender and goalie, respectively.

This may not be shocking given that Newcastle made bids for both last summer, particularly now that Guehi is in the last year of his Selhurst Park deal.

According to Sky Sports, the team is “determined” to recruit another striker in addition to keeping Alexander Isak after losing out on Liam Delap (could Joao Pedro be that man?) Moreover, as we all know, a right winger is also a priority.

According to the same article, a “young center-midfielder” is also being considered, and if Sean Longstaff leaves, that position on the field will probably be covered.

This may be our last opportunity to get a fee for the local player, Longstaff, who is currently our sixth choice midfielder and whose contract expires in a year.
