Hearts in talks with Spartans over co-operation agreement

Hearts in talks with Spartans over co-operation agreement.

Heart of Midlothian and Spartans are discussing a co-operation arrangement as part of the Scottish FA’s new system. The governing body plans to implement a new structure in which Premiership or Championship clubs can enter into agreements with clubs from League One, League Two, or the Highland and Lowland leagues. This will allow them to place up to three players eligible to play for Scotland’s national team on a ‘cooperation list.’ The trio can move freely between the two sides throughout the loan rather than being recalled solely during a transfer window.

The parent club will continue to pay the player’s salary, although he can be recalled at any time and replaced. This will go into effect when the transfer window opens on June 16. The loan system will also remain active, and teams will be able to use both to provide young youngsters playing time. The SFA anticipates that this will benefit the national team in the long future. According to The Herald, several clubs are already in talks, including Hearts. Spartans are currently in talks about forming a collaboration system with the fellow Edinburgh outfit.

The clubs already have a relationship with Hearts, having loaned out Harry Stone and Bailey Dall recently.
