MILLWALL head coach Alex Neil is set to sign a new contract that will keep him at The Den for the foreseeable future, NewsAtDen understands.

Appointed Lions boss on January 30th, Neil revitalised a Millwall side that had only won one game in their previous nine, and was languishing dangerously near the drop zone.

After a slow start, the Scotsman guided the Lions to eight wins in twelve in the final three months of the season as Millwall mounted a late play-off push – heading into the final day of the season level on points with sixth-placed Coventry City.

The Lions fell just short away at second-placed Burnley, losing 3-1 to a side that finished the season unbeaten at Turf Moor – finishing the season in eighth, just two points outside the top six.
