Aberdeen overhaul transfer department as club green light Jimmy Thelin recruitment revolution.

The Dons have employed overseas scouts and bolstered their recruitment department with new faces in order to find the next Bojan Miovski.
Aberdeen are boosting their recruitment and scouting divisions as they prepare to bolster Jimmy Thelin’s squad once more this summer. Ross Clarkson has joined from Motherwell, where he was head of performance analysis. He played a vital role in identifying talent at Fir Park. Clarkson previously worked with Aberdeen CEO Alan Burrows at Motherwell.
In December, the Dons appointed Nuno de Almeida as head of recruitment, and since then, that aspect of the operation has been reviewed. Aberdeen will now increase its investment in that area in search of the next Bojan Miovskis and Ylber Ramadanis, whom they can develop and sell for seven-figure amounts. They are now planning to add a number of abroad scouts to their operation. Former Swedish international Erik Edman is among them, as the Pittodrie club seeks to discover new talent. Aberdeen’s recruitment strategy has been very worldwide in recent seasons, but they have also increased their presence in the home markets. The Dons are aware that they will need to solve this if they are to qualify for Europe, and they are also keeping an eye on young emerging Scottish talent for the future. Aberdeen have already begun work on their summer recruitment, signing Nicolas Milanovic from Western Sydney Wanderers and Nick Suman from Cove Rangers.
