The manager merry-go-round is in full swing after Liam Manning officially joined Norwich City on Tuesday afternoon, and the 39-year-old will gradually adjust to life back in his hometown.

Bristol City are interested in Michael Carrick, who was fired by Middlesbrough after three years at the Riverside Stadium, according to EFL Analysis (exclusive).

Manning’s focus will be on Norwich as they prepare for Daniel Grimshaw’s arrival. The Canaries are also targeting Vladan Kovacevic to replace Angus Gunn, a major issue that needs to be addressed this summer.

With the transfer window open, the Championship side has received initial bids for one of their star players. The new manager faces a significant challenge as they prepare for the next stage of negotiations.

Norwich City receive the first bids for Borja Sainz.

Athletic Bilbao has expressed interest in Borja Sainz, but Chris Reeve reports that initial bids have been received for the winger.

However, the Basque club has not been the first to make an offer for the 24-year-old, who scored 18 goals in the Championship in 2024/25. Instead, clubs from Italy and Portugal have made the first moves in pursuit of the player.

With interest from Türkiye, Manning may face challenges in retaining the player who finished second in the Championship Golden Boot race last season. More bids are expected in the coming days.

Liam Manning will understand the reality of Borja Sainz’s future.

Despite the challenge of replacing Sainz’s goals, Norwich recognises the challenge of retaining the Spaniard and may have already planned for his absence.

However, with Josh Sargent well liked by Roma, replacing both of those two players will be a major challenge. Manning faces an incredible task to bounce back if their star forwards leave this summer at the same time.

The sooner a deal is reached for Sainz, the sooner the Canaries can find a replacement. Norwich have a significant transfer budget and may act quickly if either player leaves.

Nonetheless, the 24-year-old will be missed at Carrow Road, and his departure will leave a significant gap on the left flank.
