Sources have informed Football Insider that Jack Wilshere is scheduled to be interviewed for the manager position at Plymouth next week.
The 33-year-old, who most recently served as Norwich’s interim manager, was not given a permanent position; instead, the club chose to hire Liam Manning.
Argyle aims to recruit a young head coach capable of nurturing the development of the squad’s young players, and they think Wilshere might be the right fit for this role.
After only four months in his role on the south coast, Miron Muslić informed the club of his departure to FC Schalke 04, leaving the Pilgrims’ managerial position open.

The Englishman, whose career was marred by injuries, had stints at Bournemouth and West Ham before retiring at the age of 30 in 2022.
Wilshere took on a first-team coaching position at Norwich in October 2024, working under head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup.
After Hoff Thorup was dismissed in April, the ex-midfielder stepped in for the last two matches of the Championship season. However, he was not retained after the season ended.
Should Wilshere be appointed to the Plymouth position, it would mark his first permanent managerial role in senior football.

Plymouth have demonstrated previously that they are willing to take risks with their managerial choices, such as hiring Wayne Rooney last year, and they will hope that this gamble proves successful.
