QPR U18 (2) – Barnsley U18 (2) – And on the Adjacent Pitch it was a 2-1 Win for the Development Squad over Cardiff City

League 2 for U18 Professional Development
Fittall, Friel, Street, Cuthbert, Tarbotton, Neziri, Neill, Sanyaolu, trialist, Strachan, and Majesty comprised the team.
Subs: Moore, Ikoroha, Hamid, Keita-Turay, and Radojevic
Chris Hewitt and I chose to see the U18s play on the adjacent field, while the majority of the regulars had chosen to watch the Development Squad play Cardiff City.
Alfie Fittall’s clearing in the first few seconds bounced off Philip Sanyaolu’s back to a Barnsley player, but it was in vain.
Tom Senior’s hard follow-through on Fraser Neill resulted in a straight red minutes later.
After the ball was squared to the No. 10 trialist, who tucked it home, the hosts took the lead 12 minutes later.
On minute 24, Fraser Neill doubled the R’s lead.
As Rangers looked to increase their lead, a great pass out to Enis Neziri, then saw the No.7 cutting in and chipping the ball into Aston Wilson’s gloves.
Then, after taking a nice touch, Charlie Street lifted the ball, and his subsequent shot ended up just wide of the target.
Some excellent play in midfield by Fraser Neill when the QPR skipper won the ball under pressure, before turning and laying it off.
Into the dying moments and Lorenzo Strachan’s low shot from near on 25-yards landed in the keeper’s gloves.
Enis Neziri was continuously getting his shirt pulled, and on the most recent occasion, Mr. O’Meara gave the visitors the free kick!
Just before the interval, a Rangers corner resulted in two or three players floored, including Teddy Tarbotton, who seemed as if he had taken a knock to the head and was in need of some care.
Half-time: 2-0. Tanatswa Nyakuhwa’s penalty, meantime, had put the Development Squad behind one at halftime.
Charlie Street replaced Isaiah Balogun at the start of the Development game while grabbing a pair of blue shorts, and Kyreece Moore entered the game.
Robson Woodcock’s free kick flew just past the far post as the opposing team tried to get back into the game.
Soon after, Barnsley did cut the deficit. Finley Hunt’s low drive struck the back of the net despite a foul on an R’s player during the build-up.
Philip Sanyaolu, extending, barely got a toe to his first time ball into the six-yard box on 13 minutes after Rocco Friel’s fantastic run, but it wasn’t enough to bother the goalie.
On his subsequent foray upfield, Lorenzo Strachan sent the ball from a widish position just wide of the far-post.
After brilliantly evading two defenders and moving towards the bye-line, Philip Sanyaolu pulled the trigger, forcing the keeper at the near-post to make a fine stop.
Lorenzo Strachan gave way to Giovanni Ikoroha in minute 69.
After a handball on the box’s edge, Barnsley equalized 76 minutes later. Maxymilian Gryncewicz, a replacement, belted in the subsequent free kick.
Finley Hunt was booked by Mr. O’Meara for pulling on an opponent’s shirt.
Philip Sanyaolu headed just over the crossbar with about five minutes left.
Alfie Fittall’s incredible save from a close-range header was the last action.
Throughout the second half, Luka Radojevic was substituted for the trialist, marking another alteration.
We went to watch the last few minutes of the Development game after the last whistle, and we arrived just in time to witness Rohan Vaughan’s winning goal after he capitalized on Joao Da Silva’s opening attempt.
The equalizer had previously been scored by the R’s striker from the penalty spot.
