Norwood and Garner in talks to stay at Latics after firing club into League Two

Oldham Athletic are hoping to keep the core of their promotion-winning group together.

This summer, Boundary Park has 20 players out of contract, but after returning to the Football League, manager Micky Mellon is in talks with the majority of those players.

Latics announced their retained list this afternoon, with top scorer Mike Fondop, vice captain Charlie Raglan, and Wembley goal hero James Norwood among those who have begun contract negotiations.

However, defender Shaun Hobson is among the six who have been released.
