Millwall striker Mihailo Ivanovic named EA Sports FC EFL Young Player of the Month for April.

MIHAILO Ivanovic has been crowned EA Sports FC’s EFL Young Player of the Month for April.

The 20-year-old striker was in good form in April, netting five goals in six games, including vital braces in Millwall’s 2-1 and 3-1 victories against Portsmouth and Norwich, as well as the Lions’ solitary goal in a 4-1 loss at Blackburn Rovers. It was a good conclusion to the Serbian’s maiden season in English football, having joined the Lions for a then-club record sum in August. Ivanovic finished the season as Millwall’s highest goalscorer, with thirteen goals in 40 games.

Head Coach Alex Neil said on Millwall’s website, “It’s really pleasing to see Mihailo recognised with this award – it’s the cherry on top of what has been a very successful first season for him in English football.” Neil went on to say, “It’s easy to forget how young he is, given his goalscoring record.

He is only 20 years old, away from his family, in a new league and nation, but the way he has adapted and demonstrated a drive to always develop his game has been impressive.

Scoring five goals at such a crucial stage of the season was massive for us and, as part of a huge team effort, helped us fight for a top six spot right up until the final day. It’s great to see him rewarded for that form.”
