Leeds has set their sights on a player who was demoted from the Premier League the previous season and is eager to add at least one central defender this summer.

A new name has been added to the club’s plans after Phillips and Tomas Soucek were linked in recent weeks.

Dara O’Shea is added to Leeds’ summer shortlist.

Leeds has their sights set on Ipswich defender Dara O’Shea, according to The Irish Sun (via The Leeds Press). The 26-year-old is reportedly working up a move with Wolves and Burnley, the teams the Ireland international played for during the 2023–24 campaign.

O’Shea might be a bad omen because he was relegated twice in a row with Burnley and Ipswich in the last two seasons. However, Leeds believes he would be a valuable addition to their team when they return to the Premier League the following season.

O’Shea would offer excellent challenge for Leeds’ current centre-back starters, Pascal Struijk and Joe Rodon. According to certain reports, he might be available for £15 million, which the Yorkshire club can afford.

Who Leeds adds to their roster before the upcoming season is still up in the air. Although O’Shea would be a solid choice, the club’s sporting department will be considering other central defenders as well. In the upcoming weeks, more names will probably be connected.
