Wolves and Southampton waiting for signal before transfer effort – Manager’s decision key

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton are awaiting a decision from Lazio before launching a formal move for goalkeeper Christos Mandas.

According to Il Messaggero, via La Lazio Siamo Noi, both sides have expressed ‘concrete interest’ in the 23-year-old.

They explain that Maurizio Sarri’s return as Lazio manager reshuffles the cards and resets the club’s hierarchies.

Mandas is one of the potential beneficiaries. He won a starting berth last season and has a great rapport with Sarri, so he might be his number one next season.

That decision has yet to be made as Sarri reviews his roster, so Wolves and Southampton will have to wait.

According to Il Messaggero, they have shown tangible interest in the goalkeeper but are awaiting Formello’s signal before’manifesting themselves concretely’. In layman’s terms, they want Lazio to convince them that signing Mandas is worth the effort.

Lazio is thought to be willing to sell the goalkeeper because he might get in at least €20 million. That might be employed in Sarri’s team this summer.

However, the returning Lazio manager has a decision to make first, so Southampton and Wolves will have to wait.
