With only 12 senior players still under contract and three weeks until preseason begins, Nolan’s work is far from done, despite the addition of three new players this summer: Kamarai Swyer, Jack Perkins, and Jack Burroughs. Nolan remarked, “I am really happy with where we are at the moment.”
“We have additional meetings scheduled with players and agents in addition to our daily recruitment sessions. We’ll go over our goals one again during the staff meeting.
“Those are the ones we are presently corresponding with and are awaiting their responses. The most important thing to me is that players want to come to Northampton, so if we don’t receive the correct answer, we’ll seek elsewhere, so we need to be prepared for that.” We’re prepared to keep going.
I would prefer that they not come if they are not really committed and do not want to come here.
For me, that’s the most important thing since we want a successful campaign and will be pushing the players hard the following season. By the conclusion of the season, we don’t want to be snooping about.
