As Champions League winners begin negotiations with an Aston Villa target, PSG gets ready for life after Gianluigi Donnarumma.
According to Le Parisien, PSG has begun negotiations with Lille goalkeeper Chevalier as a possible Donnarumma replacement.
They may replace the Italy international this summer since Donnarumma has rejected the club’s most recent offer to extend his contract and they are unwilling to make any improvements. According to reports, Chevalier, 23, is a top target for PSG since they see him as a long-term goalkeeper.
Aston Villa and other Premier League teams are keeping an eye on the French international, who is hesitant to join as a backup.
Given the uncertainty surrounding Donnarumma’s future at the club, PSG is making backup plans. In addition to winning the European championship, the Italian goalie had a fantastic season and is still under contract until 2026.
He also won the Ligue 1 title and the Coupe de France. But the inability to reach a consensus on an extension has forced PSG to look at other options.
In addition to being valued at €70 million (£60 million/$75 million) by Lille president Olivier Letang, Chevalier is apparently thinking about extending his contract with the French team or leaving the country due to interest from Aston Villa.

PSG will keep an eye on Donarumma’s contract status and carry on discussions with Chevalier’s team. If the Italian does not renew in the upcoming weeks, the club is anticipated to formally approach the player. Chevalier must decide whether to join PSG, try to get into the Premier League, or stay at Lille.
