GET INI Aberdeen secure FOURTH summer signing as Australian international joins for free.

ABERDEEN has signed their FOURTH player of the summer, as their early success continues.

He is the third Australian to join Jimmy Thelin’s squad, as he aims to build on his team’s victory over Celtic in this season’s Scottish Cup.

Striker Kusini Yengi has signed a pre-contract agreement to join the Dons for free from Championship side Portsmouth, where he has spent the last two years. He dazzled Down Under, earning him a move to England, where he went on to score 13 goals in 31 games and win League One. He has also scored six goals for the Australian national team in 11 games. Pittodrie manager Thelin stated of the signing: “We were quite specific about the type of profile we had identified to play as a striker for Aberdeen, and Kusini has a lot of the qualities we were looking for.” “He is tall, strong, and quick; he will work hard for the squad and lead the way.

“He has also demonstrated his ability to score consistently at Portsmouth and with the Socceroos. “It is critical for us to have a diverse group of players who can offer distinct talents to our structure and style of play. “With European group stage football and a busy domestic schedule, he will play a vital role for us in what we hope will be a competitive squad.” And the forward has already met with the club to negotiate the move, saying: “It’s amazing to be an Aberdeen player, and I can’t wait to get started. “I’ve been looking forward to performing here for many years.  The manager and staff have all been very positive and their enthusiasm was one of the main reasons I chose to come here.

I was thrilled because they thought they could use me as a player to aid the club. “Every kid dreams of playing European football and playing for big Clubs like Aberdeen so I am very excited to play in those competitions and represent Aberdeen.” Goalkeeper Nick Suman is the first of two fellow Australians who will join him next season. He was signed from Cove Rangers to replace Parkhead’s Ross Doohan, who had just received his first Scotland call-up. The other is Western Sydney Wanderers’ winger Nicolas Milanovic. who was secured as early as May 12.

The final player to sign with Pittodrie is teenage Schalke left-back Emmanuel Gyamfi, who described it as ‘a dream to play in Europe’.
