Reports in Turkey over the weekend promoted the Besiktas ace as a possible choice for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
According to reports, Celtic will not pursue Besiktas midfielder Demir Ege Tiknaz in the summer transfer window.
Over the weekend, sources in Turkey connected the Hoops with a move for the €10 million (£8.4 million) rated winger, who will return to the Turkish capital next month after spending last season on loan with Portuguese club Rio Ave.

Tiknaz, 20, is a product of the Beskitas youth program and has already won two domestic cup gold with his hometown club.
However, the Hoops’ interest in the Turkey U21 international has now been fully quashed.
According to CeltsAreHere, Tiknaz is not on Lennoxtown’s transfer radar, despite the fact that manager Brendan Rodgers and his recruitment team are looking to strengthen their midfield.
The Irishman is also eager to sign a new striker to help cover the vacuum left by Kyogo Furuhashi’s £10 million move to Rennes in January.
David Strelec of Slovan Bratislava and Michel-Ange Balikwisha of Royal Antwerp have both been connected, with Celtic rejecting a £7 million bid for the former during the winter transfer window.
Matt O’Riley, who joined Brighton from Celtic Park for a large fee less than a year ago, could be on the move again.
The Denmark international cost the Hoops £25 million when he joined the Seagulls in August, following two and a half productive seasons in Glasgow’s East End.
Despite scoring a winning goal against reigning league champions Manchester City, the playmaker struggled to establish himself as a regular starter in Fabian Hurzeler’s side due to a mix of injuries and poor form.
O’Riley has already been linked with Serie A heavyweights Roma, and La Gazzetta dello Sport (Europa Calcio) reports that Atalanta are once again interested in the former Fulham youth player.
Last summer, the 2024 Europa League winners were extensively connected with O’Riley before he decided to join Brighton.
Atalanta will have a new manager next season, replacing Gian Piero Gasperini, who has taken over at Roma, with former Southampton manager Ivan Juric.
Celtic fans will be keeping a close eye on the situation, as the Hoops apparently have a 10% sell-on clause on O’Riley’s next transfer.
