Some key names at the Rhinos are out of contract before of the 2026 season, ranging from starting forwards to out-of-favour backs.
However, with three of the four prominent players presently occupying quota spaces, Leeds may be looking for outside transfers to replace them.
Currently, just five Leeds Rhinos players have contracts that expire at the end of the 2025 season, so let’s take a closer look.
Five Leeds Rhinos players out of contract this season
Ethan Clark-Wood
Clark-Wood was brought in to replace Maika Sivo after the Fijian international was sidelined for the season with an ACL injury. The 24-year-old was training with the Gold Coast Titans during the preseason before joining Leeds on the eve of the Super League season in February. However, he has only played once for the Rhinos, in round four, and it appears unlikely that he will stay with the club.
Matt Frawley
Frawley has fallen out of favour with head coach Brad Arthur, who prefers to play Brodie Croft and Jake Connor in the halves instead. The 30-year-old has dropped behind Jack Sinfield in the pecking order, leading us to believe he will not be offered a contract extension. He’s never fully established in the Super League, having made only five appearances this season.
Sam Lisone
With reports of Lisone signing a new contract, he’s quickly become a fan favourite after joining Leeds ahead of the 2023 season. This year, in particular, he’s put up some amazing performances, particularly with his barnstorming runs, and we’re sure the Rhinos fans would want to see him stay until 2025. He’s intimated that he’d want to stay, so he could resign soon.
Kallum Watkins
The 34-year-old rejoined the Rhinos in April after a four-year run with Salford Red Devils. Since making his Leeds debut, Watkins has wowed teammates, coaches, fans, and analysts with his versatility in the pack and exceptional performances. At moments, it felt like going back in time, and he deserves a new contract for next season.
Morgan Gannon
Gannon is in the final year of his contract with the Rhinos, but he has already decided to join the NRL’s New Zealand Warriors for next season.
