Bescot Stadium live as station closed after ‘assault’ leaves woman with ‘life-threatening injuries’
After the incident at the Bescot Stadium train station, an 18-year-old guy has been taken into custody on suspicion of
attempting to kill someone.
‘Life-threatening injuries’ were sustained by a woman during a’serious’ assault at a Black Country train station.
Trains will not be stopping at Bescot Stadium Station ‘until further notice’ as a result, passengers have been advised.
On Sunday, October 20, at around 11:25 p.m., emergency personnel arrived on the scene, and the woman was taken
to the hospital for additional emergency care. An 18-year-old male has been taken into custody on suspicion of
attempting to kill someone.
On Monday morning (October 21), West Midlands Police and British Transport Police officers were still on the scene.
While investigations are ongoing, the station has been closed.
According to National Rail, rail replacement coaches will run between Walsall and Tame Bridge Parkway. Passengers
were also advised to “plan ahead” by West Midlands Transport, which stated that “Trains will not call at Bescot
Stadium until further notice.”

Police remain at the scene

Several police vehicles were parked at the station car park, with officers also guarding the scene.
Detective issues witness plea
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Attwell from British Transport Police has issued an appeal for witnesses.
He said: “Enquiries into this incident are ongoing and passengers will see an increased police presence in the area as
a result. The station will also remain closed. I urge any witnesses or anyone with information to contact British
Transport Police.”

British Transport Police’s statement in full
British Transport Police has revealed an 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of attempted muder following the
incident at Bescot Stadium.
A statement read: “Officers were called to Bescot Stadium railway station just after 11:25pm yesterday (October 20)
following reports of a serious assault. Paramedics and West Midlands Police also attended and a person was taken to
hospital with injuries believed to be life threatening.
“One man aged 18 has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody.”

She was given trauma care at the scene before taking her to hospital for further ’emergency care’. Following the
