‘Bit between their teeth next year’ – Millwall boss backs duo to ‘contribute a lot’ after season-ending injuries.

ALEX Neil believes Camiel Neghli and Ra’ees Bangura-Williams will have “a bit between their teeth next year” after injuries ended their seasons.
Neghli, 23, was purchased for a club record amount in January but only made six appearances across all competitions due to ankle and hamstring ailments. Bangura-Williams, meanwhile, was sidelined after suffering an ankle injury while on international duty in March. The 20-year-old recently signed a new, long-term contract with the club. Neil feels that players who returned from injury and played crucial roles last season will “contribute a lot” in the upcoming season. “If you look at a couple of the key performers for us towards the end of the season,” Neil told me. “We got Billy Mitchell back from his injury. He hadn’t featured for pretty much the first half of the season, was one of our key performers in the remaining months. We then signed Tristan Crama, again, another key performer for us, did brilliantly. We then brought Josh Coburn back, who again had missed three months, and had some big performances for us as the season developed.
“So that’s just a couple, and I’m mostly talking about guys who hadn’t played before due to injury or hadn’t been signed at the time. When they became available, they quickly established themselves as valuable members of the squad. “I would fully expect that Camiel, Ra’ees, and guys like that, who maybe didn’t feature as much as they would have wanted to at the end of the season through injury, will certainly have a bit between their teeth next year and should contribute a lot to the team.”
