Coventry City facing competition from Middlesbrough and more Championship clubs to land £5m ace
EFL Analysis has learned that a player wanted by Coventry City has interest from a number of other Championship clubs.
Coventry City are expected to have a busy summer transfer window after losing out in the Championship play-offs last month.
Coventry will likely sell Jack Rudoni in the coming months after his fantastic 2024/25 campaign with the Sky Blues.
Sheffield United are looking at Rudoni as a potential replacement for Gustavo Hamer, who has Premier League suitors.
Meanwhile, it has previously been reported that Frank Lampard’s side could pay £5m to land Kaine Kesler-Hayden from Premier League outfit Aston Villa, and we now have an update on the situation.

Middlesbrough and Southampton like Kaine Kesler-Hayden
EFL Analysis has spoken exclusively to transfer expert Graeme Bailey about Kesler-Hayden.
And he told us that Middlesbrough and Southampton also like the versatile full-back, who impressed on loan in the Championship last term.
He said: “I heard Southampton. I heard Middlesbrough. I think he’s got a bit of interest, to be fair to him.
“I’m not saying he’s not heading to Coventry by any stretch of the imagination. But he’s got a few Championship options on the table.
“We know Southampton and Middlesbrough are losing full-backs so that makes sense. But there are about three or four teams in the Championship who like him.”

What Kaine Kesler-Hayden has said about his Aston Villa future
The 22-year-old made 44 Championship appearances while on loan at Preston North End in 2024/25.
He scored two goals and assisted three, being used all across the backline by the Lilywhites.
Speaking back in March, as per the Lancashire Post, Kesler-Hayden commented on his Aston Villa future and left the door open to multiple possibilities.
He said: “I think I’m open to anything. Whether that be a loan, whether that be a perm, or whether that be to stay at Villa. I think we’ll see… the conversations will help me understand better my position for next season.
“Until that time comes, I probably won’t know. It’s all about waiting, playing really well now, trying to improve still obviously, and finishing off this season really well.”
