DOUBLE DEAL
Wrexham line up ambitious double swoop for two Scotland stars as Celtic hero set to join third club in a YEAR.

Last season, WREXHAM maintained their ascent up the English pyramid and into the English Championship, with three Scottish players on their squad.
However, James Jones left the team in January, while Steven Fletcher and Josh Adams also left at the end of their contracts, thus there are currently no Scots in the squad for their Championship run this year.

However, the ambitious Welsh squad is putting up bids for two Scots who have combined for 78 caps for the national side, suggesting that they will be replenishing their Scottish quota this summer.
According to SunSport, Wrexham, which is owned by Hollywood heavyweights Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, is looking to sign out-of-contract players Barry Bannan and Stuart Armstrong.
Armstrong, a 33-year-old former midfielder for Celtic and Dundee United, is searching for his sixth club in less than a year.
After six years at St Mary’s, he departed Southampton last summer after his contract expired. He was without a team for several weeks until moving across the pond to join his old friend Ryan Gauld at the Vancouver Whitecaps.
After signing a brief contract with the MLS team, Armstrong returned to the UK to play for Sheffield Wednesday for a few months.
And since the Owls cut him loose at the end of the season last month, he is once again a free agent.
Last season, he played with club great Bannan, who is also looking for a new team for the first time in ten years.
The 35-year-old captain of Sheffield Wednesday is nearing the conclusion of his contract and may make one final move before retiring.
The veteran and the Owls have been negotiating a contract extension past this summer, but neither side has yet to come to an agreement.
Wrexham, who were recently promoted, are now planning to entice the midfield player to leave Hillsborough this summer.
If the two are successful in their transfer, they will play their old Sheffield Wednesday teammates in the league the following season.
Armstrong and Bannan both played a significant role in the Owls’ 12th-place finish the previous season.
Armstrong played 11 games since coming at the end of January, while Bannan made 45 appearances in all competitions.
