Following conversations with “local authorities”, Wednesday’s news confirmed disappointment.

The Owls in the Park event for this year will not be held, Sheffield Wednesday has stated.

Given the mounting anger around Dejphon Chansiri’s ownership and the fact that the Owls publicized the announcement just ten days before it was scheduled to take place, The Star reported on Tuesday that, following advice from local authorities, there was a good chance it might not proceed.

For many who have grown to appreciate Hillsborough Park afternoons, this is disheartening news, but it’s also not shocking. Additionally, the club has stated that it “will return.”

Owls in the Park has been canceled by Sheffield Wednesday.

A statement said, “The club can confirm that this year’s Owls in the Park will not take place as planned.” After consulting with the appropriate municipal authorities, the postponement was made for June 28.

The entire crew is grateful for your ongoing support, and Wednesdayites may be sure that our well-liked community event will return.

Organized groups like the Sheffield Wednesday Supporters Trust have not officially discussed protest despite internet rumors, and their chairman, Ian Bennett, recently stated their stance on the matter, emphasizing that they would not have encouraged protest at a family-oriented event like this one.

“We don’t intend to demonstrate at Owls in the Park,” he stated. We feel that it’s a family gathering, and we don’t want children around to ruin that.

I understand that some individuals want to plan an event, but we don’t want to do that because we don’t want to cause conflict at a children’s gathering.

We won’t be interfering with the recruitment process, but we will be present like we were last year.

Plans are underway to protest either outside or at the training area, but the members will take the lead.
