Chris Davies outlines Birmingham City transfer window non-negotiable

Chris Davies will make changes to Birmingham City’s team this summer to prepare for the Championship.

Chris Davies is preparing for another major transfer window to get Birmingham City ready for the Championship. Blues are looking for reinforcements, particularly in the forward areas, after winning League One with an EFL record 111 points. Although expectations will be lower next season, many believe the Blues will contend for promotion to the Premier League.

“The squad is strong, but we are going up a league,” Davies told Blues+. “We had a fantastic season. We did a lot of work last year (17 players in, 19 players out), but we still have work to do since we’ve moved up to a very competitive league. We need to improve. “I’ve travelled to a number of football clubs, but we have incredibly solid lines of communication. That comes from Tom Wagner, Andrew Shannahan, the board, Tom Brady, Craig Gardner, director of football, and Joe Carnall, head of recruitment. We’re all in frequent communication.

A lot of work goes into identifying players, analysing them, scouting them, and meeting with agents, and I come in at the conclusion of the process. This is a collaborative approach.
