Free agent linked with Birmingham City completes transfer to Championship rivals.

The defender has been linked with Birmingham City and a number of Championship clubs.
Harry Darling, a defender connected with Birmingham City, has joined Norwich City in the Championship. Darling, 25, was a free agent after his contract with Swansea City expired, and he had a number of possibilities. In addition to Blues, Championship clubs Wrexham and Stoke City were linked, as were Scottish heavyweights Rangers. The centre-back has signed a three-year contract with Norwich to work under former MK Dons manager Liam Manning. Darling remarked, “I’m overjoyed; it’s been a long time coming after so many chats. I’m relieved to finally have things resolved, and I’m looking forward to getting started.”With Liam in charge, I was already familiar with his style of play from my time at MK Dons, so I didn’t need much convincing. I really enjoyed working with him last time.” The defender was one of the most sought-after players in the Championship this summer, but the Blues have a pretty well-stocked centre-back position. They already have Christoph Klarer, Krystian Bielik, and new acquisition Phil Neumann on their roster.
Norwich’s sporting director, Ben Knapper, added: “We’re overjoyed to get this transaction completed. Of course, there was a lot of competition for Harry’s signature, so we’re thrilled to have him, and it’s terrific that he sees us as the greatest location to dedicate his long-term future. “He’s entering his prime years, is familiar with the league, and has much experience at this level. He is a seasoned performer with a strong desire to advance and contribute to the success of our football team.
“Above all else, he’s also a great person, and his character and personality will be a great fit for our environment.”
