‘He is a class player’: Celtic are about to leave Brondby and FC Copenhagen gutted by stealing their ‘dream signing’

Celtic appear to be increasing their transfer activities this summer.

With Brendan Rodgers already busy negotiating the signing of Kieran Tierney from Arsenal and, hopefully, an announcement of Callum Osmand from Fulham on the way, the Celtic manager appears to be getting everything in order.

Michel-Ange Balikwisha appears to be on the verge of joining Celtic after the Parkhead club began talks to bring the Belgian to Glasgow. However, it’s another player Celtic have been linked with that Danish football expert David Boysen says will leave two Danish clubs disappointed if they win his signature.

Celtic target Benjamin Nygren is described as a ‘very great’ talent.

Benjamin Nygren is likely to complete his Celtic switch in the coming days. The Swedish attacker has been linked to the club for the better part of two weeks now.

And when the relocation is announced, it is sure to disappoint both Brondby and Copenhagen. Boysen told the Daily Record that Benjamin Nygren would have been a great signing for both Brøndby and FC Copenhagen. He also mentioned FC Midtjylland.

“He is an excellent player who can fill a variety of roles. Some players rise to the occasion, as Benjamin Nygren, who has been named team captain, has demonstrated.

“He earlier claimed that he had not played enough for FC Nordsjaelland, which has benefited him because he has been handed a significant role.

“I think he is absolutely fantastic and scores goals in all sorts of different ways, and he has also scored in his national team debut.”

Benjamin Nygren’s unbelievable rise from unknown Utbynäs SK to Celtic.

Nygren is already a fully recognized Sweden international, having already scored two goals for the country.

The Swedish striker began his football schooling with Utbynäs SK when he was six years old, moving to Gothenburg at the age of twelve.

Following his first-team debut for Gothenburg in 2018, the Swede scored six goals in 15 games before joining Belgian club Genk. That move was unsuccessful, and following a difficult loan spell at Heerenveen, Nygren moved on to FC Nordsjaelland and has never looked back.

Now on the verge of a sensational move to Celtic, Nygren will fondly remember his time at Utbynäs SK, which laid the groundwork for the 23-year-old to blossom into a potential star at Parkhead.
