3 goalkeepers Millwall must consider amid injury blow and confirmed departure

Millwall are in the market for at least one goalkeeper this summer after the departure of Liam Roberts and the injury to Lukas Jensen.

Millwall are looking to challenge for the play-offs once again next campaign and will need to strengthen this window. The Lions will look to build on their successful 2024/25 season and compete in what will be an even tougher division.

To achieve any kind of success next campaign, the South London side must look to sign at a minimum one goalkeeper before pre-season begins. It was announced last week that Liam Roberts had signed for Mansfield Town after the expiry of his contract.

Millwall goalkeeper Lukas Jensen

Lukas Jensen suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon back in April and is expected to miss a significant amount of next season too. The Lions’ usual first-choice shot stopper kept 14 clean sheets in his debut season at The Den.

Millwall retain strong faith in Jensen and will likely opt for him to return as the number one after the 26-year-old returns from injury.

With that in mind, here we put forward three options the Lions could target to be the starting goalkeeper for the majority of next season…

Josh Keeley – Tottenham Hotspur

Keeley spent last season on loan at League One side Leyton Orient. The 22-year-old kept 16 clean sheets in 36 league appearances and narrowly missed out on promotion.

The Irishman will want to continue his run of gametime, and he would certainly get that for Millwall next season. If the Lions were to pursue the young shot stopper, it would likely be on a one-year loan deal.

The goalkeeper’s standout year at League One makes the progression to Championship football necessary for his development.

Filip Marschall – Aston Villa

The 22-year-old was on loan at Crewe Alexandra for the 24/25 campaign and kept 16 clean sheets in 46 appearances in League Two.

The South London side have already been linked with Marschall this window. It would also be a loan signing if the Championship outfit were to make the deal happen.

It would be a relatively big step up for the Englishman if he were to play in the Championship next campaign after two years in League Two, but Aston Villa will want to see how he has developed.
