EFL Analysis has gained an insight into when Rob Edwards will be announced by Middlesbrough and an update on his backroom staff.
We reported earlier this week that Middlesbrough had reached an agreement with Luton Town for Rob Edwards, who was placed on gardening leave earlier this year.
The manager has been out of work since leaving the Hatters in early January, shortly before the club was relegated to League One.
Middlesbrough’s decision to hire Edwards has been explained, as has Boro’s decision not to hire Steve Cooper, who was the preferred candidate.
And we now know when the former Luton man will be presented as Michael Carrick’s replacement.
When Middlesbrough will announce Rob Edwards and backroom staff update
We reported earlier this week that Harry Watling will be Edwards’ number two at Middlesbrough.
EFL Analysis has learned more about who will join the manager’s backroom crew this season from our transfer correspondent, Graeme Bailey.
We understand that Edwards’ appointment will become official on Monday.
The deal is complete, and the manager has been at Rockliffe, but Middlesbrough has only been sorting out the backroom staff.
We’ve already named Watling, but EFL Analysis believes Adi Viveash will also join.
Who is Adi Viveash
After retiring from football in 2007, Viveash began his managerial career at Cirencester Town.
He then spent several successful years with Chelsea, serving as U18 and U21 manager before leaving in 2017.
Viveash then joined Coventry City as Mark Robins’ assistant manager in July 2017, where he helped the club achieve two promotions in three seasons.
The 55-year-old left the Sky Blues in July 2024, a little more than a year after signing a new four-year contract.
