Every confirmed Bristol City incoming and outgoing this summer, plus latest transfer rumours

The Robins failed in the Championship play-off semi-finals last season and have been busy so far this summer ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Bristol City were beaten 6-0 on aggregate by Sheffield United in the Championship play-off semi-finals to conclude their 2024/25 campaign in defeat.

Following that, head coach Liam Manning was hired by Norwich City to spearhead the Canaries’ promotion push in the 2025/26 Championship campaign.

Former Barnsley boss Gerhard Struber was appointed by Bristol City, and ahead of his first season in charge, EFL Analysis has the rundown on all ins, outs and rumours at Ashton Gate.

All Bristol City confirmed incomings this summer

So far in the summer transfer window, Bristol City have completed two signings to add to new boss Struber’s squad.

Yu Hirakawa’s loan move officially becomes permanent, after it was announced earlier in the season.

However, the most important signing comes in the form of midfielder Adam Randell from Plymouth Argyle, who suffered relegation to League One last season.

The real reason Randell left Plymouth Argyle was because of the relegation release clause in his contract, which saw Bristol City swoop for his signature, and sign him for an undisclosed fee.

After signing at Bristol City, Randell told BCFC: “I’m absolutely delighted to be here. I’m really looking forward to being part of the project and I’m over the moon to finally get it done.

“The aspirations of the club very much align with mine; they’re building something here that I want to be a part of that.”

Versatile defender Taylor Gardner-Hickman has officially signed for newly-promoted Birmingham City after the Blues exercised the option to make his move permanent at the end of the season.

As well, both Stefan Bajic and Ayman Benarous have been released by the Robins ahead of next season.
