Sheffield United, Stoke City set for disappointment in Tottenham Hotspur player pursuit

Ashley Phillips was desired by Sheffield United and Stoke City, but according to Alan Nixon, Thomas Frank wants to keep him at Tottenham Hotspur.

After losing the race for promotion, Sheffield United is preparing for another season in the Championship. SUFC lost to Sunderland in the play-off final after missing out on a spot in the top two.

Under the direction of Ruben Selles, who unexpectedly replaced Chris Wilder at Bramall Lane, the Blades are now starting a new chapter.

The focus now turns to recruiting for the new boss, and it had been said that one player on the radar was Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Ashley Phillips.

Reporter Alan Nixon, however, stated on his Patriot that Spurs‘ new manager Thomas Frank plans to keep Phillips in North London for the upcoming season, so fans of the Championship teams, including Sheffield United, Stoke City, and Phillips, would be disappointed.

As they start playing Champions League football, Frank intends to include Phillips in his first team.

Although SUFC will be frustrated by the results, they must immediately look for other options as they bolster their roster in preparation for a subsequent attempt to advance to the Premier League.
