Although he stated that he was not shocked to see Jimmy Dunne sign a new deal with QPR, pundit Lee Hendrie asserted that the defender may yet depart Loftus Road soon due to intense Championship interest.

Despite QPR’s lackluster season last season—the West London team ultimately finished in 15th place after threatening relegation—Dunne had another strong season on an individual basis and was chosen as the team’s Player of the Year by both fans and teammates.
During the January transfer window, FLW exclusively reported that Sheffield United was interested in Dunne. Later, Blades manager Chris Wilder acknowledged that the club had what he called a “reasonably good bid” turned down by the R’s.
Prior to his departure on Wednesday, it was reported that Wilder remained keen to bring Dunne to Bramall Lane this summer, but the 27-year-old ended speculation over his future this week when he signed a new deal with the Hoops, claiming that Loftus Road “feels like home” and revealing that his “emotional attachment” to the club convinced him to stay.
