Former Portsmouth College talent free to leave newly-relegated League One side – but don’t get hopes up over Fratton Park return

Andy Rinomhota, a former Portsmouth College student and Pompey triallist, has left Cardiff City.

Andy Rinomhota, a former Pompey triallist, has been informed that he is free to depart Cardiff City.

The former Portsmouth College student is one of nine first-team players leaving the Welsh capital this summer as part of the Bluebirds’ massive roster overhaul after their relegation from the Championship.

After their contracts expired, the 28-year-old and captain Joe Ralls had been in negotiations to stay with the Bluebirds. Despite talks over their futures, the club has since confirmed that the two will now leave.

Rinomhota made 31 appearances for the Bluebirds last season, including two against Pompey, although they were demoted to League One following a lackluster Championship campaign.
