According to sources who spoke exclusively to Football League World, Port Vale has reached an agreement to recruit seasoned custodian Marko Marosi on a free transfer.
The Valiants made a fantastic start to the summer transfer window and were promoted back to League One at the first attempt this past season, thanks to Darren Moore’s masterminding of the success in Staffordshire.
Slovakian custodian Marko Marosi is expected to join Port Vale.
According to information provided to FLW, Marko Marosi will be joining Vale Park as number five this summer once his contract with Cambridge United expires.

After leaving Plymouth Argyle, Marosi joined the U’s in mid-January, giving the Abbey Stadium goalkeeping position more depth.
The 31-year-old only made two appearances for United, though, as his season was cut short due to a hamstring injury that forced him to leave the game after only 40 minutes in a 3-2 victory over Mansfield Town.
However, when he signs his Vale deal, he will compete with Ben Amos for the starting shirt at Burslem, adding depth to Moore’s goalkeeping choices for the 2025–26 campaign.
Prior to joining Wigan Athletic in 2012, Slovakian custodian Marosi began his career with Barnoldswick Town in the non-league divisions rather than through an academy.
However, he did not play for the Latics; instead, he began his EFL career with Doncaster Rovers, making 95 appearances until joining Coventry City in 2019.
Prior to moving to Cambridge, Marosi played 61 games for the Sky Blues, including 20 in the Championship. He then spent three years with Shrewsbury Town in League One, making 147 appearances for Salop across all competitions. In 2024, he also briefly played for Plymouth Argyle.
