Official: Nathaniel Phillips Makes a Permanent Move to West Bromwich Albion

Big Nat Phillips has finalised a permanent transfer to West Bromwich Albion, thus the rumours are accurate.

Despite Liverpool’s difficulties starting in January of 2020–21, the central defender played a significant role in the team’s European qualifying, filling in brilliantly throughout the team’s terrible defensive injury season.

Since joining the Academy in 2016, Nathaniel Phillips has been a Red for over ten years. One of the more uncommon newcomers who joined in his late teens through trial rather than transfer is Phillips.

The most memorable of the defender’s 29 senior appearances for Liverpool may have been the one-time victory over Everton in January 2020. Phillips was briefly called up from his loan at VfB Stuttgart to play in an FA Cup match against Everton at Anfield following the Reds’ victory, he quickly left Germany to complete his loan.

Naturally, the majority of his outings occurred during the previously stated injury-plagued 2020–21 season. Phillips’ services were crucial to a very strong drive the next season because he was one of several who stepped up during a difficult time.

Despite spending a large portion of his time with Liverpool on loan, he will undoubtedly continue to be a cult icon and have an impact on Merseyside. Let’s not forget his Cruyff turn in the San Siro, of course.
