Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly given approval for Brazilian striker Richarlison to leave this summer, with a potential replacement already identified in Brentford forward Yoane Wissa.
Richarlison Exit Gains Traction as Turkish Clubs Circle
Despite moments of quality during his time in North London, Richarlison has struggled to maintain consistent form due to recurring injuries. In three seasons with Spurs, he has made 90 appearances across all competitions, scoring 20 goals and providing 10 assists.
Though new manager Thomas Frank is said to appreciate Richarlison’s attributes, reports from Turkey suggest the 28-year-old could be on his way to the Super Lig. Turkish outlet Posta claims Galatasaray are targeting Richarlison as a fallback option should they fail to secure Victor Osimhen on a permanent deal. Osimhen, who was on loan last season, is also linked with clubs like Manchester United and Arsenal.
Tottenham are reportedly open to either a permanent transfer or a loan deal for Richarlison, and Fenerbahce boss Jose Mourinho is also believed to be monitoring the situation, potentially setting up a domestic tussle between Turkish rivals.
Yoane Wissa Identified as Richarlison’s Successor
With Richarlison potentially heading for the exit, Tottenham are believed to be turning to Brentford’s Yoane Wissa as a direct replacement. The DR Congo international played under Frank at Brentford and has become one of the Premier League’s most consistent forwards in recent seasons.
Wissa scored 12 goals and added three assists in the 2024/25 campaign, contributing significantly to Brentford’s attacking output. Since joining the Bees in 2021, he has netted 49 times across all competitions.
Although Brentford are keen to retain Wissa and are working to extend his contract beyond 2026, Tottenham’s interest has reportedly intensified. Internal discussions about a potential move are already underway at Spurs, and Frank’s existing relationship with Wissa could prove decisive in pushing the deal through.
Brentford Brace for Interest as Tottenham Push Forward
Brentford are aware of growing attention toward Wissa, particularly with Bryan Mbeumo likely to join Manchester United in the current window. The West London club may face mounting pressure to keep hold of their attacking core but are determined not to lose both forwards in the same summer.
If the move progresses, Wissa would join Spurs and provide competition for fellow forward Dominic Solanke, potentially reshaping Tottenham’s frontline under Frank’s management.
