Liam Manning is set to fix one key Norwich City issue, and an intriguing target will undoubtedly follow.

Norwich City have already been active in the transfer window, and they are closing close on another deal.

Jacob Wright was the Canaries’ first signing of the summer, and Daniel Grimshaw joined shortly after from Plymouth Argyle.

However, with Angus Gunn leaving, Liam Manning still needs a new number one at Carrow Road, and he appears to be on the verge of finding one. However, with Borja Sainz set to go and Leeds United interested in Josh Sargent, attackers will be in high demand this summer. By bringing in a new starting custodian so early, Norwich should be able to focus on more attractive targets soon.

Norwich City close in on signing of Vladan Kovacevic

Vladan Kovacevic has piqued the Canaries’ interest throughout June, and according to Portuguese source O Jogo’s print edition, the Championship club will sign the shot-stopper in the coming days.

The 27-year-old is now signed by Sporting CP, but he spent the second half of last season on loan with Legia Warsaw in Poland.

Legia had the chance to make the trade permanent, but they chose not to do so, and Norwich has decided to make a play for the Bosnian international. Sporting invested €4.8 million on the custodian last July; nevertheless, he made only 10 appearances for the club and his departure has been imminent.

Liam Manning will be looking at attacking options now

With the custodian situation finally seeming like it will be resolved at Carrow Road, Norwich’s next step is to bring in the players who will be aiming to propel the squad into the top six.

Manning has been granted a substantial transfer budget, and the Canaries are a dark horse in the promotion battle, but they must find replacements for Sargent and Sainz.

The two scored over half of their team’s goals last season, and replacements must be found to ensure the Norfolk club can climb the table.

They will both be difficult to replace, but it is not impossible, especially if considerable costs are paid.
