Reading Football Club has announced the appointment of a new first-team assistant manager.
Despite the fact that the club has not acknowledged it, Richard Beale will join the Royals, as revealed on social media yesterday.
Reading had been looking for a new assistant manager after Nigel Gibbs left earlier this month to join Championship side West Bromwich Albion.
Richard Beale will join Noel Hunt’s coaching team at Reading after leaving the Baggies, which was revealed yesterday.
West Brom announced, “Albion can confirm Professional Development Phase Manager Richard Beale has left The Hawthorns to pursue an opportunity at another club.”
Beale joined the Baggies in July 2021 and has overseen the Under-21 squad for the past four seasons.
“During his debut season, he led the young team to the Premier League Cup victory, defeating Wolves on penalties in the final.
“The club wishes Richard and his family all the very best for the future.”
In addition to West Brom, Beale has worked with the youth teams at Birmingham City and Aston Villa, and he has served as caretaker first-team manager at both clubs.
One of West Brom’s caretaker games in 2022 included a Championship victory over Reading.
