Milan Mandaric provides a significant update on Sheffield Wednesday’s involvement in the takeover.
In a statement, former Sheffield Wednesday chairman Milan Mandaric indicated that he was withdrawing from attempts to help Dejphon Chansiri’s team acquire the team.
The Serbian businessman, who has owned clubs throughout Europe, including Portsmouth and Leicester City, told BBC Sheffield last week that he planned to talk to people like former vice-chairman Paul Aldridge and current Owls finance director John Redgate in an attempt to lift the team out of its current rut under Chansiri’s ownership.

In 2015, Mandaric sold the club to Chansiri.
Mandaric, 86, is thought to be in the United Kingdom on a three-day trip to London.
He said in a statement to BBC Sheffield that while he is still “very concerned” about the ongoing issues at Hillsborough, he will not be looking to get more involved in any efforts to assist the team at this time.
Following my radio interview last week, the statement said, “I have now had the opportunity to speak with both my advisors and close family in respect of how I might be able to assist Sheffield Wednesday at this difficult time.”
“Unfortunately, after getting in touch with him, Mr. Chansiri confirmed he would not be in the UK during my brief visit, which disappointed me as I had hoped to meet him in London.
“Like all Sheffield Wednesday fans, I am obviously quite alarmed by the state the team is in right now.
However, after some thought, I believe that pursuing my sincere desire to help during this pivotal moment for the club would not be the best course of action for identifying the long-term solution that we all desire.
