Club ‘enthusiastic’ about move for Sheffield United star – Transfer ‘feasible’, he wants return
PSV Eindhoven are interested in Sheffield United star Gustavo Hamer, and he would like to return to the Netherlands.
That’s according to Eindhovens Dagblad, who report that the 27-year-old is a potential target for the Eredivisie side.
They report that Hamer would like to return to the Netherlands after making a name for himself in England with Sheffield United and Coventry City before them.
He has ‘flourished’ in England after a spell at Feyenoord, and PSV see him as an option to replace Malik Tillman when he leaves the club. He’d be considered something of a coup as many believe he is ready for the Premier League and a top-flight player.
For now, he’s just an option on the list that is being considered. There are several possibilities being looked at by the Dutch side. They are, though, ‘enthusiastic’ about the idea of signing Hamer from Sheffield United.
A transfer is seen as ‘feasible’ as the belief is that he would cost €8-12m to sign this summer. The bigger question is whether it would be valuable for them given his age and a desire at the club to not have assets that will depreciate and not bring in money down the line.
Hamer, for his part, would like to return to the Netherlands and prove himself at the top level there. He is ‘extremely motivated’ about that idea and seemingly keen to move on from Sheffield United this summer.
