Sheffield Wednesday next manager: Ex-Middlesbroughu, Swansea City, Wolves and Liverpool men among favourites.

Middlesbrough, Swansea City, and Wolverhampton Wanderers fans may recognise some of the names on the shortlist for Sheffield Wednesday’s next manager. There is no vacancy at Hillsborough, but it has long been assumed that Danny Rohl’s tenure there is up.
The 35-year-old has made it obvious that he wants to leave S6, citing off-field turmoil during his time there. Wednesday has recently struggled to pay its players and personnel, putting more strain on owner Dejphon Chansiri.
The under-fire chairman has made a statement claiming “full responsibility” for the club’s problems and reaffirming his willingness to sell to the right buyer. He stated, “I accept full responsibility for being unable to meet my current obligations, but I also have an obligation to ensure that if the club is sold, it is sold to the right people with the right credentials who can sustain Sheffield Wednesday and take the club forward.” “I understand our followers are unhappy and want me to sell, as several have expressed when contacting me directly.
All I ask is that you do not believe everything you read in the news or on social media. I repeat that I am willing to sell, but the agreement must be correct on all fronts, not just the price.
“I have been seriously engaging in looking for investment from new parties, and continue to do so to quickly remedy this situation.” According to reports, conversations about Rohl’s status as manager have begun.
It is hoped that a resolution can be achieved, with a compromise possibly required to permit an exit.
There is a lot of doubt surrounding Wednesday, and given the upheaval, it appears that they will need a new management sooner rather than later.
Here’s an early look at the BetVictor favourites to succeed Rohl at Hillsborough.
