After today’s draw, Colchester United’s 2025–26 Vertu Trophy group is officially complete.

Gillingham, Wycombe Wanderers, and now Fulham Under-21s, who were confirmed as the last club in the group during today’s draw involving all 16 invited Category One academy teams, will join the U’s in Group G of the Southern Section.

In addition to a new Academy test against Fulham U21s, Danny Cowley’s team will play League One and League Two opponents in Wycombe and Gillingham. Since the tournament’s current format was adopted, the U’s have faced teams like Arsenal, Tottenham, Brighton, West Ham, Southampton, and Reading Under-21s. Fixture dates will be confirmed soon. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stages, with ties remaining regionalised until the Quarter-Final stage.
