Watford star expected to leave the club this summer.

Watford midfielder Imran Louza is poised to depart the club this summer, with clubs around Europe interested, according to the Watford Observer.

Watford are entering a key summer transfer window as they begin a new era under head coach Paulo Pezzolano. The decision to cut ways with Tom Cleverley enraged many fans at Vicarage Road, but the focus has now switched to supporting Pezzolano and preparing for a bright future.

Reinforcements are essential, and the Hornets have wasted no time in bolstering their team. Free transfers for Hector Kyprianou, Nathan Baxter, and Marc Bola are a fantastic start to the club’s summer activities.

However, with new faces entering the picture, numerous existing players’ fates are now questionable. Imran Louza’s future appears to be sealed after playing his final game for the club, according to the Watford Observer. The Moroccan has notified the club that he desires to leave, and Watford will not stand in his way.

However, they want to get the most money out of the player they paid roughly €10 million for. Louza was Watford’s player of the season last year, with an average match rating of 7.22, according to FOTMob. He had spent the previous season on loan with Lorient, then in Ligue 1.

Who was the first championship manager to leave?

Hard to replace

Watford will struggle to replace players like Louza this summer. Bringing in a player of his calibre and ability at the Championship level will be very challenging.

The next CEO, Pezzolano, may need to consider a system modification to accommodate Louza’s departure. Given how the club finished last season, this may not be a terrible thing for the Hornets.

Given the strength of the Championship next year, any money received for Louza must be reinvested in the playing squad. The fee they earn for Louza may bring in three or four great players.

Who else could leave

Giorgi Chakvetadze and Kwadwo Baah are sure to get a lot of attention this summer. The sale of Louza puts Watford in a far better position to reject proposals for the pair.

Watford are not looking to sell this summer as things are, but that notion will only be strengthened if they can get a good price for Louza. So far this summer, neither Baah nor Chakvetadze has expressed any specific interest.
