Terry Miles, a former Port Vale midfielder, dies
Terry Miles, who was born in 1937, was a mainstay of the Port Vale team in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Miles, who joined the Valiants in 1958, was a calm and reliable midfield player who played in more than 400 games. He became well-liked by supporters after establishing a reputation for perseverance, devotion, and a strong work ethic.
Miles had a significant role in the side that was promoted from the Fourth Division in the 1958–59 season when he was at Vale Park, which helped to set the groundwork for the club’s success in the years that followed.
Miles remained a popular character among Vale fans and continued to contribute to the game at a non-league level after leaving the club.
The Port Vale Football Club extends its sympathies to Terry’s loved ones. We shall always have positive memories of his legacy and contributions to the club.
