The West London club announced on Friday that they had signed defender Kealey Adamson from Australian side Macarthur.

A statement confirmed: “Defender Kealey Adamson has completed a permanent transfer to QPR from Australian A-League club Macarthur FC for an undisclosed amount. “The 22-year-old right-back will officially join on July 1st.” Adamson said of the move, “I’m quite excited. QPR is a huge club with a long history.

Even in Australia, I believe everyone knows who QPR is. It’s a very appealing club, well-supported, and the list goes on. I really want to get started right away.”He went on to say that Macarthur defender Ollie Jones had a significant role in the transaction, saying, “He’s a huge QPR supporter.

I was keeping up with the results even before I realised there was any interest because he would come into the changing room and watch the finish of games or highlights, so I believe there was a link without my knowledge. I told him about my interest, and he said, ‘You’re going, you’re going, you’re going! He was quite excited.”

Adamson is still only 22 years old, so it’s unclear how immediate his effect will be, but when asked about his playing style, he said: “I like to think of myself as a fairly modern right-back.

I’m fortunate to have an engine and the pace to move forward, join the attack whenever possible, and still be able to come back and be disciplined in defence. So, I believe that your work rate will be the most important factor. I’ll be at both ends of the pitch, so hopefully you’ll see two of me on the pitch!”

Defender wanted back

On the defensive front, Hervertton Santos is thought to be wanted by Vitoria de Guimaraes following a successful loan spell last season. According to West London Sport, the Portuguese club wants to re-sign the defender, who was originally signed on loan in January. Santos only joined QPR last summer, but his relocation to the English capital has not gone well so far. Vitoria apparently has a £1.7 million option to buy Santos, but they want to cut the price.
