Tom Sang, a dynamic 25-year-old from Port Vale, has joined Shrewsbury Town.
The Croud Meadow team, who finished last in League One and were demoted to League Two, has signed Sang to a two-year contract. He played 32 games for Port Vale, who earned promotion last season by finishing second in League Two.
“Tom is a really good football player,” stated Micky Moore, the director of football for the Shrews. Like Tom Anderson, Sam Clucas, Sam Stubbs, and Will Boyle, he began his career at Manchester United as an offensive midfielder and comes in with a promotion on his resume.
He went on to say: “He is a wonderful person and can play a variety of positions. “His arrival means we now have 18 players in the squad, which I think gives Michael Appleton a great opportunity to get his principles and ideas into the group early.”
Sang is Shrewsbury’s fifth summer acquisition after midfielder Clucas and centre-back Anderson were signed earlier in the window, while defenders Stubbs and Boyle arrived last week.
