Sheffield United Set Sights on Nottingham Forest Defender Tyler Bindon
Sheffield United are reportedly weighing up a move for Nottingham Forest right-back Tyler Bindon, as newly appointed head coach Ruben Selles looks to reshape his squad ahead of the new season.
The 21-year-old defender only joined Forest from Reading in January but returned to the Royals on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign. It was during his time at Reading that Bindon came under the guidance of Selles, and that previous relationship could now lead to a potential reunion at Bramall Lane.
Selles Identifies Familiar Talent
Ruben Selles, known for his focus on developing young players, is believed to have been impressed with Bindon’s maturity and composure during their time together in Berkshire. The Spanish manager is eager to bring in energetic, tactically aware defenders as part of his rebuild project, and Bindon fits the mould.
While no formal bid has been reported, the Blades are understood to be keeping close tabs on the player’s situation. With competition for places expected to increase at the City Ground, Bindon could be open to a fresh challenge elsewhere, particularly one offering more consistent first-team football.

Bindon is primarily a right-back but has also been deployed as a centre-back in back-three systems, making him a versatile defensive option. Sheffield United, who are seeking to bounce back strongly after a difficult campaign, are believed to value that versatility as they plan for a more competitive squad under Selles’ leadership.
The Blades’ defensive line struggled at times last season, and adding a young, driven talent with Championship experience could prove a smart piece of business if a deal materialises.
